Green Cedar Lebanon is an NGO dedicated to the noble cause of making Lebanon greener, combating climate change, and fostering sustainable development. Through captivating art exhibits, they harness the power of artistic expression to raise awareness about deforestation and environmental issues. Artists are the torchbearers of their message, wielding their creativity to inspire action and advocate for a healthier planet. At the core of their efforts lies a commitment to empowering artists, providing them with platforms, resources, and support systems to effectively leverage their talents. By nurturing their creativity and amplifying their voices, the NGO cultivates a community of change-makers who use their art as a potent force in the fight against climate change. Through empowerment, artists not only express themselves authentically but also drive meaningful impacts in their communities and beyond.

Achievements

Green Cedar Lebanon's exhibits serve as fundraising events and have yielded remarkable achievements. Through these endeavors, the NGO has not only raised awareness but also made tangible impacts on Lebanon's environment and society. They have successfully planted three cedar forests, complete with irrigation systems, ensuring their long-term maintenance. Additionally, their efforts extended to supporting the creation of a training center for firefighters of the civil defense, equipping them to combat forest fires effectively. Furthermore, amidst economic crises and the aftermath of the Beirut blast, Green Cedar Lebanon stepped up to aid communities in need. They financed the rehabilitation of a destroyed building, offering hope for recovery in the face of adversity. Moreover, the NGO generously donated funds to the Lebanese Food Bank, providing essential support to alleviate food insecurity during challenging times. These achievements exemplify Green Cedar Lebanon's unwavering commitment to environmental conservation, community resilience, and social welfare.

Goals

The goals of Green Cedar Lebanon NGO center around fostering cultural exchange and collaboration between nations. Our "Dessine Mai Un Cedre" exhibition has garnered global acclaim for its portrayal of Lebanese culture and heritage. We aim to showcase this exhibition in various parts of the world to serve as a platform for promoting understanding and appreciation between Lebanon and host countries. 1st Edition

“DESSINE-MOI UN CÈDRE” - The YACHT CLUB, Beirut, March 2019

The “Draw me a Cedar" exhibition was inspired by the deep affection for cedar trees that is ingrained in the hearts of every Lebanese person. Green Cedar Lebanon invited some of Lebanon’s most talented artists to express their personal interpretations of the cedar. This non-profit initiative aimed to showcase the resulting artworks to the public, with proceeds from sales going towards the establishment of a new cedar forest “The artist’s forest”. All those who contributed to the success of this event were recognized by having their names tagged on trees.

2nd Edition

“DESSINE-MOI UN CÈDRE, CENT ARTISTES POUR UN CENTENAIRE”- LA RÉSIDENCE DES PINS, Beirut, September 2020

To commemorate the centennial anniversary of Lebanon's foundation, Green Cedar Lebanon inaugurated its second edition of "Draw Me a Cedar, One Hundred Artists for One Centennial.” This collaborative exhibition showcased 100 artworks by Lebanese artists and took place at the Résidence des Pins, with the patronage of the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Bruno Foucher.

3rd Edition

“DESSINE-MOI UN CÈDRE, HOMMAGE AU PAYS DU CÈDRE” - ARTHAUS, Beirut, March 2021

In March 2021, Green Cedar Lebanon launched the third edition of "Draw Me a Cedar, Tribute to the Land of Cedars," hosted at Arthaus Beirut. This exceptionally successful event paid homage to the cherished land of the cedar tree.

“DESSINE-MOI UN CÈDRE, HYMNE AU LIBAN” - MODUS ART GALLERY, Paris, November 2021

In November 2021, the "Draw Me a Cedar, Anthem to Lebanon" exhibition debuted at the Modus Art Gallery in Paris. To commemorate the event, the "Draw me a Cedar" book was signed at the Lebanese Embassy in Paris.

5th Edition

“DESSINE-MOI UN CÈDRE,LIGHTS OF A REBIRTH” - SURSOCK PALACE, Beirut May 2022

In May 2022, the 5th edition of the "Draw Me a Cedar, Lights of a Rebirth" exhibition was launched at Sursock Palace, a historic and artistic landmark in the heart of Beirut that had suffered severe damage from the August 4 Beirut Port explosion. This exhibition served as a beacon of hope and resilience amidst the challenges faced by the country. Fifty magnificent cedar trees, created by 50 of Lebanon's most skilled artists, adorned the remaining walls of the palace. A portion of the exhibition proceeds supported the planting of Green Cedar Lebanon’s second cedar tree forest, "The Eternal Love Forest – Loop," while another part was allocated to aid in the restoration of Sursock Palace.

6th Edition

“DESSINE-MOI UN CÈDRE, DESSINE-MOI LA MEDITERRANÉE” - MONACO, September 2022

For the 6th edition of "Draw Me a Cedar, Draw me the Mediterranean" Green Cedar Lebanon extended its reach to the Lebanese diaspora in Monaco. The exhibition took place at Salon Monaco Méditerranée, with the esteemed patronage of H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco. Profits from the exhibition were dedicated to planting a new forest in Lebanon to combat deforestation and address climate change.

“DESSINE-MOI UN CÈDRE, GREEN ROADS AGAINST FOREST FIRES” , ARTHAUS, Beirut. 2022

The "Green Roads Against Forest Fires" exhibition featured a collective display of the distinctive creations from Lebanon's top ceramic artists. This event was organized through collaboration with the Roads For Life association, aimed at safeguarding Lebanon’s forests, aligning with our dedication to a brighter future for Lebanon.

“Elevated Wood, A Journey through Upcycled Tree Art”. This exhibition, showcased the transformative journey of the logs into captivating art pieces. Over forty renowned local artists have crafted logs with unique characteristics and have used their imperfections to create sculptures and decorative pieces.
